Living WWE Legend Rowdy Roddy Piper Passes Away

I remember growing up in the 80's and watching wrestling which was named WWF back then and being amased by the talent and entertainment coming from Rowdy Roddy Piper! He was so energetic and made you want to tune in every Saturday morning. Sad to report, living legend transitioned into a better place at the age of 61. Reports has been made that he passed away in his sleep. No better way to go, no pain or suffering allowed...

In 2006, the WWE announced that Rowdy Rowdy Piper whose real name is Rodrick George Toombs had been diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma and would receive treatment for his condition. For those who may not be aware of this disease, Hodgkin's lymphoma affects the lymphatic system which cells spread and grows abnormally. As Hodgkin's lymphoma progresses, it compromises your body's ability to fight infections correctly and results in breaking down your system.

My most memorable fight was watching Piper go toe to toe with Hulk Hogan in tag team match at Wrestlemaina. At the end of the night Hulk Hogan (whose currently spotlight of the media for racial slurs and also banned from WWE as well removed from the Hall of Fame) defeated Piper and his team mate Paul Orndorff.

Rowdy Roddy Piper got his name being exactly that, ROWDY! He was one of the most controversial wrestlers of my era and he will be greatly missed!
